Sara & I are working with our "mini-term" group this week. At Western Mennonite we finish the year off with a 7-day long event that teaches the students something educational or focuses on service. We spent our first day painting the dorm & then took the weekend off. Today led us to the beautiful Oregon coast. We started out at the Oregon Coast Aquarium which was the first time I had ever been there. It was fun to see all of the exotic fish and the shark tank. This is a picture of our mini-term group.
I am absolutely facinated by these creatures, especially after I saw the movie 7 pounds this past week featuring Will Smith. It's amazing to me that a creature can look so beaautiful yet be so deadly. A true wolf in sheeps clothing...
Sometimes you just need to look at an animal like this to know how unique & creative our God truly is!
After the marine life viewing, we went to Mo's for lunch. The students enjoyed the good food & then spent the rest of the afternoon at the beach. They had fun playing in the water & burrying each other. All in all it was a fantastic day & we were blessed with terrfic weather.
Tomorrow we are heading to Portland for a Portland Beavers baseball game & then off to the Oregon Zoo. It should be a jam packed day but also a lot of fun as the kids will have to navigate their way through the zoo while trying to finish a scavengar hunt.
